The "Collect Files" option is a really helpful tool to set up a backup machine quickly. But as soon as you make a tiny change like transition time, reorder files, add an effect, etc., the backup machine is no longer up to date. It would be great if a backup machine would constantly update itself via network, to always have two identical machines...11 votes

(could be "Open Project") . Or if you wanna get really minimallist sexy, you could just have icon of a looking glass or a graduation hat "Learn"
and an icon of a disk "Open" and icon of a blank paper for "New"6 votes
it would be useful to have, because we have external displays for remaining time, but its sometimes confusing if people dont know if the video is looping or not. Thanks.6 votes
its helpful to be able to rearrange canvas position in the preview UI; for example when doing 2 canvases of 3 projector blend each , it will be easier to see the content if the long canvases can placed on top of each other rather than side to side9 votes

It would be really user-friendly to have Thumbnails on timelines. It can be hard to remember what the specific timeline contains. Therefore, it would be easy and fast to see what the timeline contains with a picture.
Reading a text or note can often be time consuming.4 votes
The possibility to have an ISF effect switched from an input signal to a target signal as with a video mixer.13 votes
To be able to export a dashboard from one project and be able to import it into another.
Would be great when working with surfaces in one project but not the other and not have to re-create the surface each time.3 votes
better than Artnet !3 votes
driving the rate of advancement for the internal time values used inside most shaders is a fantastically useful thing. Magic VJ for OSX allows ISF speed values to go negative, and this turns out to be alot more useful than you may expect, and I have not had any issues / crashes / bugs resulting from this.1 vote
ISF effects dragged to timeline/dashboard work like after effects adjustment layers and process layers below them.3 votes
I always get confuse that it doesn't work that way ;)6 votes
Additional controls of layer alignment relative to either the canvas or other selected layers (need to be able to select multiple layers).
Much like in many popular layout-oriented programs, like Keynote or PowerPoint or even Spyder X20 control.
For horizontal/vertical alignment relative to other layers:
- Align centers
- Align Bottoms
- Align Tops
- Align Left
- Align Right
- Align Middle
For canvas-to-layer alignment, these additional options:
- Center X
- Center Y
- Fill Height
- Fill Width44 votes
In the workspace, it would be great to arrange the position of individual canvases.
For example, I have a very wide Canvas 1 and Canvas 2 is by default placed next to it which means that I have to zoom out a long way to see both.
If I add third and fourth canvases it starts getting very difficult.
If I could arrange the additional canvases under the first it would make working on these projects much easier.1 vote
It will be nice to have the program support multi channel SDI capture card like AJA io4K. Right now it works with a blackmagic Mini Recorder, but that only has one channel.4 votes
16 bit dmx input for controlling layer position smoothly from a lighting console3 votes
Given that some systems we may with the trigger Millumin with only support sending UDP commands, allow for Millumin to receive simple strings via UDP and interpret these messages as OSC.
The behavior can be observed in Qlab. A string command sent over UDP to Qlab will be interpreted as an OSC message.
The behavior is described in this help document:17 votes
I need to input specific values for my fixtures and right now I can only input as a 0-100% I think it would be real easy to have the option to input the values as 0-2552 votes
For setups with moving displays, it would be good to have OSC control over display position, rotation & corners so the displays can move over a big virtual canvas.3 votes
I'd like to use remaining time to trigger an action. I'd like to launch an audio file that announces "1 minute" when there's 1 minute remaining, then "30 seconds", "20 seconds" and then a 10 second countdown, "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, etc..."
Ideally, I'd like to even be able to tap into the timecode over OSC so I can have another app (Octopus) trigger these actions.2 votes
