free-running mode on a timeline
free-running mode
1 voteHi. We redesigned timelines in Millumin V2, to handle such cases more easily. Especially, we introduced a new concept called “segments”, that can loop (and even have an intro the loop).

Columns as Cues
Hi!
I think it would be much easier for theatre work if it was possible to treat the columns as Cues, so that you could program "Fade Up Column 2, fade down column 1" etc etc. Right now i have a lot of work with "Setup automatic transition" inside "Effects" inside "Media / Image" for all media on a column.
I often use a composition with the layers inside, but then i cannot control the layers inside the composiiton with artnet, osc etc.
All this is for speed, when a director asks for a different fade time etc.
In short…
19 votesHi. We redesigned transitions so you can easilly define one at column level, and even at layer/column level.

Manual coordinates for slices
Regularly I have a map created in Illustrator or a UV map from Cinema 4D with exact pixel dimensions. I'd like to be able to input these directly into Millumin instead of dragging boxes around the areas. A coordinate edit box in slices editor would achieve this nicely. Thank you!

record mask and mapping
It could be very usefull to have the ability to record a mask or a mapping on files.
1 voteAvailable in latest beta (so outside the official channel, but it will be soon).
Not exactly on files, but simply in the pasteboard.More info : http://blog.anomes.com/post/155759980147/new-features-for-lights-electronics-monitor

Select multiple medias in timeline to move them together, for exemple
For the moment, we can only move video in timeline by choosing them media by media. It would be nice to select multiple medias, from one layer or on different layers to move them together.

Shift-click to multi-select. Double-click to select related keyframes. -
Show Audio Curves. Audio Tracks and Keyframe the Audio Levels
It would be great to be able to see the audio curve in the timeline. Maybe could be possible to have a different kind of layers or media such a sound layer. Also would be nice to can put keys in the audio level attribute.
Thanks for this amazing software. The Hap codec support saved me in the last show!
14 votesHi. This feature is now available in latest Millumin V3 beta : http://millum.in/beta

Numbering of Layers and Columns
I have great trouble programming with artnet and osc.
I am trying to control a mask (on the TOP layer) that is supposed to move when the scenery on stage is moving (an AC motor with PLC that talks with arduino)
My problem is that if I add or remove a layer, the top layer gets a different number. This is not practical. I need to give custom numbers to layers alla Qlabs cues.
Also, the same issue with columns. If I add a column between 3 and 4 called 3.5 the rest of the show is ruined!
1 voteHi. Available from Preferences.
In Millumin V2, you can even directly use the layer’s name in the OSC API. -
"Changing-media-property" cue
A good extension is to continue to run a "media -dummy " , in which media settings for the current video with a cue can change. For example, changing the speed of the video.
4 votesHi. We implemenetd this in Millumin V2.

Syphon Input / Output for Layer / Media
Hey- it'd be great to be able to output media to syphon and import it back in on a per layer / media item basis. This would be really useful for doing custom video processing in another app, like Jitter or OF / Processing. I was imagining it working like an effect, with the parameters being the name of the syphon server.
Thanks!

2 votesHello,
You can use such an effect : see this post to download a pack of custom effects
—→ http://forum.millumin.com/discussion/352/quartz-effects-pack/p1There is an effect “Syphon Server” to create a Syphon server on a specific layer.
Best. Philippe

Visible Layer index
Just a small visible number next the head of each layer. It is good for targeting a layer while using OSC, specially if there are a lot of layers to count.

control playback speed / pause of a layer with a midi/osc controller
it would be great if there was an control for pauseing or speed controling the active cell of layer with one control.
or the possibility to control the pause button of the actual played object of an layer (as it appears in the live preview window).
1 voteHi. You can MIDI map such functions : see “Time” panel on the right of the dashboard.

Adding OSC Command "save to current project" with no path-to-project required
This feature would be nice when you use different computers or setup, without to enter the full path of the project.

Adding OSC commands "Start Column" and "Stop Column" separately
Of course, there is a "Launch/Stop Column" OSC command. But, it would be usefull to have two more OSC commands: a simple "Start Column" and another to "Stop Column" to manage a column like a media: if you send the order "start", it would launch the column. If you send it again, it would launch again the column (instead of just "stopping" it as it is the way it works with "Launch/Stop" command).

When duplicate layer, it would be nice to keep the preset "loop" and copy it on the new layer
Actually, when you duplicated a layer, the preset of the loop is not copied to the new layer created. I think that if you want to duplicate a layer, you also want to keep your preset (as I want and need to).
