LOCKING LAYERS SO MEDIA DOESN'T MOVE
I have just come to Millumin from Qlab on one side and Final Cut/Da Vinci on the other side.
I am building a fairly complex 2 hour show that requires MIDI CC changes sent out to DMX lights at EXACT positions in the time line, plus has many overlapping layers as different video media plays, plus the audio being routed to front of house as we well as some media being sent only to rear speakers.
I want to be able to lock a layer so that the media is fixed in the correct space.
With over 20 layers, it's impossible to see them all at once, and all too easy to accidentally move some media without noticing it until running a show and seeing there is something out of step.
locking layers would safeguard the show, so that no matter who is operating it- media can't mistakenly be moved out of place.
This is common on all video editing software ( for similar reasons)
For me this would be a very beneficial update, especially as the padlock symbol in the layer header (especially for video editors) feels like it ought to do it
All the best

I am doing a similar project but with timecode in timelines and almost every other time i click on a clip to modify it it bumps it every so slighty.
I dont understand what the lock symbol does besides just sit there and do nothing.
Need to be able to lock the layers 100%
