Having a playback shuttle would make it easier to scroll through video content fast and call back the video at will instead of having to stop and restart the column. This would help in fast forward and could have reverse play option too. Also it could have more user friendly buttons that would allow for play options at the end of the movie file. (loop, pick up from last played, play once and stop, etc) Speed control could also be in this position so you can do it on the fly and don't have to be in edit mode. You would have to select the column first to be able to achieve this action.
